STREET 2 SEAT, INC.
OVERVIEW
Street 2 Seat, incorporated is a nonprofit organization committed to identifying and addressing the root causes of low attendance rates among high school scholars. While students may walk the same halls and live in the same neighborhoods, each one comes from a different “street”—a symbolic path shaped by the depth of their life experiences, the width of generational impact, and the type of “traffic” or barriers they face on a daily basis.
Street 2 Seat Inc. believes that school attendance is not just about showing up—it’s about removing the barriers that keep students from showing up. Our goal is to move students from the streets that hold them back to the seats where they can rise, lead, and thrive.
PURPOSE
The purpose of Street 2 Seat Incorporated is to pinpoint, address, and rectify attendance challenges faced by high school students. These challenges often stem from personal, family, or community-level obstacles that are emotional, mental, financial, or logistical in nature.
We are here to do more than report absences—we understand the “why” behind each one and co-create a solution with the student that leads to sustainable growth, presence, and performance.
THE STREET 2 SEAT PHILOSOPHY
• The Street represents each scholar’s unique journey—defined by how long they’ve been navigating hardship, how deep the generational patterns run, and the obstacles (or traffic) that appear on their path.
• The Seat represents stability, opportunity, and purpose—created when a scholar is fully present, equipped, and empowered in school and in life.
MISSION STATEMENT
To identify each scholar’s barriers and empower them to create their seat in the world by providing life skills education and wraparound support in the form of emotional, mental, educational, financial, transportation assistance, and more.
